tahoe

I'm feeling much better now. My first cold was a tough one to get rid of, and was lingering for almost 2 weeks. My parents got it too. But we all got better just in time for my first trip to the snow! This is Lake Tahoe, a beautiful lake in the Sierra Nevada mountains in California.

We drove in the car for a very long time, late into the night. There was snow on the roads and we had to go very slowly, I went to sleep. After seven hours we finally arrived at Truckee, a small town just near Lake Tahoe.

We stayed in a nice house with some good friends. My friend Alexandre was there. We had lots of fun together. He showed me how good he has become at walking. He makes it look very easy, but I can't do it yet (don't forget, he is six months older than me). Here's a picture of us hanging out in the lounge room.

My parents kept reminding me that this weekend had something to do with "adventure" but I had no idea what they were talking about until they took me cross country skiing. I rode in a sled - which fortunately was covered because there was an icy gale blowing outside. My Dad towed me most of the time, and didn't seem to notice my crying. Eventually I fell asleep. It was cozy and warm in the sled and I had a sleeping bag wrapped around me. But it was kind of bumpy.

I tried to hold my composure while we got some photos of me and Mom in the snow, but I was pretty much at the end of my rope by this point, and all I wanted was to go back to the warm house and sleep, eat, and play with Alexandre.
