Superman

Look... up in the sky.... it's a bird... it's a plane.... no... it's me, Riley!

After I spent the morning fighting crime and saving the world, we went to a great halloween party. There were lots of scary-looking people there, but I wasn't afraid, I took it all in my stride.

Pumpkin Patch

Happy Halloween everyone!

On the weekend we went to a pumpkin patch, and later, a pumpkin-carving party. It was great fun, I like this halloween stuff.

Today I am going to another halloween party in my costume....I'll let you know how that goes.

Oh, by the way....I just turned 4 months old on the 29th!

Halloween

Things are getting a bit crazy around town as Halloween approaches.

I mean, some people go nuts decorating their houses. We go walking every day and see what kinds of decorations prople have set up. Just to give you a taste...check out this example... (click to make a bit bigger)

echidna

Check out this fantastic fleecy thing for my stroller - my grandma got it for me - it keeps me nice and cozy warm whe we go for walks in winter. Not that its all that cold yet, we were just trying it out.

The animal on the front is an echidna - a native Australian animal, very cute, kind of like me in a way!

We've been having a great time at home, enjoying the nice weather. I've got my haloween outfit ready....but you're going to have to wait until haloween to see that, and I am not giving anything away.

Napa

Last week it was ski-jumping in San Francisco, but this week I got to go on a trip to the Napa Valley, the heart of California's wine-making region. I wonder if all kids my age are doing all this stuff.

If you've never been to Napa, this is kind of what it looks like... (and you can enlarge the photos by clicking on them)

I got to see grapes growing on the vines, trucks carting the grapes for processing, grapes being loaded into a big hopper, the big barrels and tanks where it gets fermented, and the final product, a nice cold glass of champagne.

I didn't have any wine of champagne of course, because I only drink milk right now, but I did notice that the milk does taste even nicer after mommy has her champagne.

Ski Jump

This week I went to my first ski jump event. They turned one of San Francisco's steepest streets into a huge ski jump by trucking in tons of snow...in summer! We went to check it out, it was my first trip to the snow....well, kind of. I', starting to think I might become an olympic skier.
