Google

To wrap up a jam-packed week, I had lunch today at Google. They call it 'The Googleplex'. You know I am a Silicon Valley baby, so it was only appropriate to go have lunch at the 'darling' company of 'the valley'. It was an amazing experience, there was a band playing, a huge outdoor BBQ - and when I say BBQ, I don't mean some steaks and sausages on the grill - we are talking exquisite gormet offerings. Everyone was in a party mood, but I get the feeling that is kind of normal at this place, and why not. Probably half of them are multi-millionaires ;)

But if a BBQ was not your thing, there were many other choices. There's a huge food court in one building, and then other cafe's scattered here and there. Each staffed by gourmet chefs and boasting mouth-watering menus. Of course, I was happy just with the Cheerios I broght along with me. This may look like a normal office caffeteria, but the food is anything but normal.

As you walk in, you pass the volleyball court, where Google workers get some exercise. At some point I guess they go back inside and do some work :)

And since there are so many different buildings, there are electric scooters laying around that are provided (free) for the workers to zoom around on. Late for the volleyball game? grab a scooter and off you go! Some people prefer to drive their electric cars.

We spent about an hour relaxing listening to the music, walking around, and talking to some of the puppies. Yes, you take your dog to work with you at Google....right to your office or cubicle. So there were lots of dogs around.

They must love babies at Google, and pregnant mothers get special privelges, like reserved parking at the front door.

Here's a photo of the overall scene in the main courtyard. Click to enlarge.

My 1st Birthday

I guess its not every day you turn One Year Old. Today I reached this momentous milestone, and I gotta say, it really felt just like a normal day to me, I mean, I've been around a long time people! It's not like I'm the new kid on the block or anything.

I started the day as usual with a leisurely breakfast of fresh grapes, bananas, yogurt, pear and pineapple, followed by a swim at the pool, some shopping, a midday nap, and then at night we had some birthday cake.

This has been a jam packed week, and I never got a chance to tell you about the concert in the park yesterday. It seems like ages and ages since we had the last concert, and finally they have started again.

Swimming

I've been going to swimming classes. Today was third out of four classes. I used to cry in the pool, but I'm getting used to it now. I can even duck my head under the water a bit.

kiteboarding

I just discovered something incredible, it's called kiteboarding. We went to see a kiteboarding competition on San Francisco Bay, not far from my house. People fly kites above them and the kite pulls them along on their board which is strapped to their feet. It was great to watch. I think I will give it a try soon, but I want to learn to walk first!

If you you want to see what this kiteboarding thing is all about, try the video below, its great! Press the triangular play button.

Pulling Up

These days I like to pull myself up off the floor whenever possible. I use chairs, tables, boxes, or even people....whatever is handy to grab onto. Check it out in this very short video.

Playdate with Landon

Last weekend I had a great playdate with Landon. He has some fantastic toys. It was the first time I tried a walker, and I loved it. It took me a while to settle in, but I do love going to play with Landon. Check out this great little video....just click on the image below:

Camping video

As I mentioned earlier, I had my first camping trip recently, to Point Reyes, just a bit north of San Francisco.

Here's a few highlights from the video that was made about the trip. Hope you like it. Click the image below to get started.

Gabriel

Here's a recent photo of me with my cousin Gabriel.
In case you are wondering, we are watching television, which is rare for both of us, so we were very excited about it.
